Loads of thanks to my young friend Abhijit Aggarwal,my journey as a blogger begins today-18th of March,2010.I must confess it is a little intimidating---will I be comfortable with making my personal views so public?Will anybody ever bother to read my blog?Well ,every kind of writer(author sounds better )survives and thrives on readers---universal truth----one who believes in the contrary is definitely conceited.Who couldn't do with a little appreciation?So here I go with appropriate salute to my imaginary readers!!! I believe I am a typical literature teacher. I love books---my first love--as simple as that. In Amitav Bachhan's language "I talk book,I eat book ,I sleep book---".My over dependence on books sometimes scares me.I feel lonely and dejected when I don't have a good book around.I am no friends with the idiot box,although I am a couch potato,in a sense, but with a book in hand not with a television in front of me.Now I believe the way I am going with the computer I might soon become a mouse potato.Lets ponder upon my addiction to books.Is it unusual?Is it abnormal?I don't think so. May be over dependence is not desirable but a little love for books can do more good than harm.What a great stress buster they are apart from being of course the much publicized 'great friends'! But of course one must exercise discretion while selecting a book that will make a good read.But then discretion is the essential tool to emerge as a winner in a game called 'Life".Isn't life all about the choices that we make? So have a love affair with books which will enhance and widen your perception of life.Happy reading.
